Tomorrow, my sister will be going to the MTC. She is going to the Canada, Montreal, French speaking mission. She's going to be in the MTC for only two weeks because of her awesome French speaking skills. This post is a tribute to her. I hope she'll be able to see it before tomorrow, if not then her loss.My sister is amazing. She's so positive and uplifting and just generally
fun to be around. Did I mention she's a ginger? But she has plenty of
soul.
She's always trying to get me to be more social and get out of my little
bubble, which is very thoughtful of her. I'm very grateful to her for
letting me hang out with her and her friends on some nights. Since I was
in junior high and she was in high school, I always wanted to be fun,
outgoing, likeable like she was. When people asked me "Are you Sydnie
Landeen's little sister?" It got a little annoying because she was so
popular so everyone would ask it, but I was always proud to answer
"yes".
Well Syd, I know I didn't cry when we dropped you off at college, and I probably won't cry when we drop you off at the MTC today. I'm sorry, it just isn't as moving as John Smith and Pocahontas being split up ;). I just want you to know that I love you and I'll miss you. Who else is going to 'sleep' yell at me when I'm screaming at my t.v. show in the middle of the night?
Well, you know what they say.....Goodbye's are not forever. Goodbye's are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you, until we meet again.
I'm so thankful for the example you are setting for me by serving the Lord. You'll do great! I miss you already. I love you!!
